AMHA is a non-governmental professional association. AMHA does not assert regulatory, accreditation, or governmental authority and does not represent itself as an agent of any governmental body.
All recognition, licensing, and standards activities are voluntary and institutional in nature. AMHA's role is to develop frameworks, convene professional councils, support implementation, and advance outcomes research in the public interest.
